Ram Sevak Tiwari, working as a security guard at a sari shop in Collectorgunj, was killed and Rs 18 lakhs robbed from him while he was on his way to deposit the money in a bank on July 16.
No arrests have been made so far in the case.
Seeking Yadav's intervention, Jaiswal, who is MP of the Kanpur constituency, asked for the immediate arrest of the culprits and a high-level investigation be carried out in the case.
He also demanded compensation for Tiwari's family.
Meanwhile, shops in Collectorgunj and other major markets downed their shutters today as a mark of protest against the killing.
