Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday underwent a planned diabetes management surgery at the Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket here and was recovering well.
Jaitley was admitted to the hospital at around 6 pm on Monday and an elective laparoscopic procedure was carried out on him on Tuesday. “The procedure has been performed successfully,” a statement issued by the hospital said. Pradeep K Chowbey at the hospital said Jaitley was fine and would be discharged in a day or two.
A Bharatiya Janata Party statement also said the procedure conducted on Jaitley was successful.
The 61-year old Jaitley has been a diabetic for last few years.
