JAKEDA to set up six Mini Hydel Power Projects

Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) will set up six Mini Hydel Power Projects of 9.5 MW capacity through Independent Power Producers (IPP) mode under Phase-II in the state.
"The process for allotting the works of these Hydel power projects has been started through competitive bidding. The required letters have been issued to the respective bidders by the authorities of JAKEDA," Minister of State for Science and Technology Feroz Ahmad Khan said today.
Khan, who reviewed the functioning of JAKEDA, Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) and Leh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA) at a high level meeting here, said JAKEDA has earlier allotted six projects having 9.95 MW Cumulative capacities under Phase-I among IPP to develop these projects in different areas of the State.
"More projects will also be allotted in future in phased manner by JAKEDA to play a positive role as State's Renewable Nodal Agency for harnessing the renewable power potential in the state," he said.
