Demanding stringent punishment to those involved in the Mumbai gang-rape case, Jammu based journalists today took out a protest rally in the city.
Scribes from both print and electronic media, carrying banners and placards, assembled outside Jammu Press Club today and took out a protest march which passed through several parts of the city in support of the demand for stern action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, former minister and NCP J-K chief Thakur Randhir Singh condemned the heinous gang-rape of the 23-year-old photojournalist and demanded strong punishment for the perpetrators.
In a statement, Singh demanded a very strong law to be passed for hanging the culprits in such cases through fast track courts.
The photojournalist, who worked as an intern with an English magazine, was gang-raped by five men on Thursday evening when she had gone to the deserted Shakti Mills compound in Lower Parel with a male colleague on assignment.
