A multi-level car parking facility will be set up within a year in Jammu to ease traffic congestion caused by haphazardly parked vehicles, the state government announced today.
"The multi-level car parking facility in the city will be completed within next one year," Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had recently laid foundation stone of the semi-automatic multi-level car parking facility located at Super Bazaar in the city.
To be constructed at a cost of Rs 50.31 crore, the multi-level car parking facility will accommodate 352 vehicles and 164 two-wheelers and is expected to be completed within the next 12 months, he said.
The parking facility will greatly ease traffic congestion on busy sections near Kanak Mandi, Old Hospital Road and Raghunath Bazaar, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
This will be the second big multi-tier parking project which has been launched in the state's winter capital after the one in Jammu bus stand, he said.
