Asking people of the city to come out and vote in the elections, Congress Minister Sham Lal Sharma today said that it was to time to tell that Jammu will no more be second fiddle to Kashmir.
"A fervent appeal is made to voters of Jammu to exercise their one of their fundamental rights -- right to franchise judiciously as in a democratic system, it is the power of the people which is supreme to decide their destiny", Sharma said.
Sharma, Minister for Public Health and Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, said this during a meeting with hundreds of youths and women, including local traders, businessmen, ex-Servicemen and retired government employees.
Results are very crucial in particular for Jammu region and its people since party like BJP too allegedly betrayed Jammuites taken a "U-turn" on all political issues directly related to the future of the masses.
"Their latest hidden but hijacked agenda of Hurriyat Conference and National Conference; opted to joined hands with the separatist for grabbing power which has damaged and disappointed Jammu's cause", Sharma alleged.
He appealed to Akhnoor people once again to give him massive mandate as development remains a continuous process, furthermore, Congress party assured them major role to play in his struggle for dignified and prosperous Jammu, which need loud, strong and overwhelming popular mandate.
Sharma said, "Jammu's youths, intellects, media and social organisations occupy significant role to play in restoration of their people's distinct identity," and to formulate unified agenda to work upon with sole aim of seeking their rights.
