Announcing this, Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice-President (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel today said 10 km run is the approved distance for road races by International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).
Organised by the Tata Steel, the 10 km run would be for the elite runners (open to all).
Besides, the event will have a 7 km run for men and women and a 5 km run for the under-16 boys and girls, Bhaskaran told a press conference here.
While the winners of 10 kms run will get a prize money of Rs 51,000 each, the second and third spot winners will be richer by Rs 41,000 and 31,000 each.
The top five finishers in the 7 kms race will get Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,500.
For under-16 category, top five runners will get Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000, Rs 7,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 5,000 each, Bhaskaran said.
