'Jan Dhan Yojana' result of Modi govt's out of box thinking
Press Trust of India New Delhi Emphasising on the importance of innovation, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore today said the Narendra Modi government's schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, neem coating of urea or the drive asking affluent to give up LPG subsidy are a result of out of box thinking.
Speaking about 'Jan Dhan Yojana', Rathore said apart from state resources, the government also inspired volunteers and showed confidence in banks, who worked hard to open crores of accounts.
He cited another instance of "out of box" thinking saying Urea was siphoned to produce chemical products, so the government came up with idea of neem coating it to stop such a practice.
The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, who was speaking at an event where BML Munjal awards were conferred, said another example of out of box thinking was the policy asking the affluent to give up gas subsidy.
He said while many did not initially believe that Indians would give up their subsidy, today upto a crore people have given up subsidy.
