Japan focus country at IFFI this year

Japan would be the focus country at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2013, that is scheduled to be held later this year in Goa.
"Every year we invite a country to the film festival as the focus country. Last year we had extended this invitation to Japan for the IFFI in Goa and next year China will be the focus country," I&B minister Manish Tewari told reporters here.
Tewari, who signed a joint statement with with Japanese minister Toshimitsu Motegi for cooperation in the field of Media Content industry said Japan had consented to send its movies to the festival.
Tewari also said that the government had also initiated discussion with Japan to explore possibility of Japanese cooperation in the establishment of an International Centre for Gaming and Excellence at Mohali.
He added that Japan's assistance in a starting a course related to animation and gaming at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune was also discussed today.
