Japan's National Security Advisor Kentaro Sonoura on Wednesday met Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi here and discussed various aspects of bilateral ties.
Qureshi told Sonoura that Pakistan regards Japan as a close friend and key economic partner, according to a statement by the Foreign Office.
They exchanged ideas on enhancing cooperation in political, defence, economic and commercial sectors.
Both countries expressed firm resolve to further increase high level interaction, the statement said.
The Japanese NSA expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.
Qureshi also briefed Sonoura about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and invited Japanese investment in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and assured facilitation for Japanese investors in all sectors.
The foreign minister welcomed the sixth round of the Joint Government Business Dialogue scheduled to be held on December 10 in Tokyo and hoped for a concrete outcome.
