Japanese delegation teaches Ikebana skills

A delegation from Japan today taught skills of Ikebana-- the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement and decoration here.
An eighteen-member delegation from the Sogetsu School of Japan gave detailed information about the various styles of Ikebana to members of the Jaipur chapter of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).
Head of the delegation Chosei Sawa and Norika Yabuta gave a lecture demonstration to the participants, who were told that two styles, basic upright and basic slanting, were the foundation of all other variations, an official statement said.
They also underlined that Indians and Japanese have a similar spirit of worshipping God through flowers.
