Japanese firm chosen as consultant for world class museum

Famous Japanese firm Maki Associate has been chosen for supervising design of proposed world class Archaeological museum in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said today.
The Japanese firm was chosen following due process of international tender. Talks were also held with Lord Kalwar Resources for construction of museum in the capital, he said after laying foundation stone of the museum here.
Reputed company L&T has been selected for construction work, he said.
The museum that would house rare statues and sculptors available in Patna museum and those around the capital would be inaugurated on Bihar divas (March 22), 2015, the CM said.
The construction would be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 530 crore, he said adding 500 government buildings would be demolished for construction of the museum.
Kumar said the state government has not made any plea for funds for the museum and would construct it from its own resources.
The Chief Minister, a history aficionado, said Bihar has been traditionally on the world history map and the museum would once again re-establish its position.
