Taga, speaking at a function here, hailed the Indo-Japan Association Calcutta and Ghosh Yoga Institute Japan, for their initiatives in popularising yoga in Japan and other parts of the world.
"Many Japanese are regularly practising yoga and leading a healthy life," he said on Sunday.
The Japanese Postal Department also released four stamps to honour the four top yoga exponents of India - Karuna Ghosh, Biswanath Ghosh, Yogacharya Bishnu Charan Ghosh and Ashutosh Ghosh - for their contributions in initiating and spreading yoga in Japan.
