The team comprised representatives of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and railway operators, the statement by the railway ministry said.
Th team, on its second visit to the country, visited the Indian Railway's coach, wagon, loco maintenance facilities, and observed rail welding and track maintenance practises.
The Japanese team on its earlier visit in January had assessed incidents of rail breakage and suggested measures to improve safety in train operations.
