The 45-year-old star believes becoming a dad is a lot of responsibility and he wants to bite the bullet when he is ready, reported ES magazine.
"I think it's really important to be present if you have children. I have a lot of... Things to take care of," Leto said.
The "Suicide Squad" actor, who had famously prepped up for his role as The Joker by sending rats to his co-stars and used condoms among other things, said he would not go that far for every role.
"I've always just done what I have to do in order to do a good job - and I feel I do a better job when I give a bigger commitment.
