Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday lauded the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) for instilling mutual respect and acceptance for diversity of ethos in students.
Javadekar visited a three-day national integration camp at the Vigyan Bhawan here.
"The unity in diversity is the speciality of India and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has very well presented this speciality as it has schools across the country and they share best practices. These practices instill mutual respect and acceptance for diversity of ethos, culture and food," he said.
"The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a role model for not only government schools, but also for private schools," the minister added.
Over 1,600 students escorted by 175 teachers from KVs across the country are participating in the "KVS Rashtriya Ekta Shivir-EK Bharat Shreshth Bharat".
