Jawan injured in Manipur explosion dies

An Assam Rifles jawan succumbed to injuries sustained in bomb explosion at Manipur capital complex here, police said today.
Rajeev Sharma (33), one of the two persons injured in the explosion yesterday, died at the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital late last night.
Besides Sharma, who hailed from Himachal Pradesh, the other injured person was Mutum Komol, a 50-year-old local shopkeeper whose eardrum was severely damaged by the sound of the explosion, the sources said.
Earlier reports had put the number of injured persons at three.
The bomb went off at around 4:30 PM in Keisampat area here when people were going to watch the 'Sangai Festival' (tourism festival).
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
