Jay Z enjoys secret birthday party

Singer Jay Z celebrated his 47th birthday a day early with close friends and family members at a private dinner party here.
The 21-time Grammy winner partied at French restaurant 'Republique' with his singer wife Beyonce. The couple, who married in April 2008, kept their arrival under wraps and had the hotspot's entrance covered with dark green tarps, reported Us weekly.
Beyonce's former Destiny's Child bandmate and close friend Kelly Rowland attended the intimate celebration with her husband, Tim Witherspoon.
Jay Z's mother-in-law Tina Knowles also arrived with her husband, Richard Larson. Knowles, 62, rocked a black and army green jacket, skintight leather pants and platform boots.

Jay Z's birthday dinner appeared to be much more low-key than his wife's Soul Train-themed birthday bash in September.
Queen Bey celebrated the big 3-5 with countless A-listers including Usher, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz and Chance The Rapper.
