Jaya boosts morale of her partymen ahead of assembly polls

After leading the AIADMK to a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today exhorted her partymen to prepare themselves to retain power in the assembly elections that are about two years away from now.
Jayalalithaa, also the AIADMK supremo, asked the party workers to "aspire big in life and be self-confident to post victories".
Speaking at the marriage function of sons of her party functionaries here, she sought to enthuse partymen narrating short stories of personalities who overcame hurdles in life to scale great heights including that of the noted jester of the Vijayanagar Kingdom Tenali Ramakrishna.
"Certain problems could be burdensome. If you consider such things as happening only for good reasons, you could concentrate on your next work and move ahead in life happily," she told the gathering.
Confident of AIADMK extending its rule over Tamil Nadu for another term after the 2016 assembly polls, she asked her partymen to aspire big in life and be self-confident to post victories.
"Everything that happens is only for good," she remarked obviously referring to AIADMK's victory in 37 of the 39 Lok Sabha seats, a verdict that gave the party the tag of third largest contingent in Lok Sabha and also the post of lower house Deputy Speaker post.
M Thambidurai was recently unanimoulsy elected the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker in the wake of initiative by the ruling NDA, which apparently awarded the post to AIADMK to ensure maintaining of good relations with Jayalalithaa led party.
Jayalalithaa, who is all set to be re-elected as the party's General Secretary on August 29, for the seventh successive term, is gearing up her party for the next battle of ballot in the backdrop of BJP led NDA making efforts to sew up a grand alliance for the 2016 elections.
The BJP last week appointed Tamilisai Sounderrajan as the state unit party chief in place of Pon Radhakrishnan, who has become a Union Minister.
