Jaya inaugurates various facilities of different departmets

Tamil Nadu government has launched various facilities of different departments including a high rise lamp set up at a cost of Rs 9 lakh at the memorial site of former President APJ Abdul Kalam in Rameswaram.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa launched the facilities of the departments of Tamil Development and Information, all totalling around Rs 13 crore, on Monday.
An official release today said that the Chief Minister inaugurated through video conferencing various buildings constructed at an estimated Rs 5.24 crore at the International Institute of Tamil Studies here.
She also inaugurated buildings at Thanjavur and Madurai under the Tamil Development Department and a godown in Salem constructed to store equipment and other material used in Government Fair.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the high-rise electric lamp at the memorial site of Kalam in Rameswaram and a bus shelter constructed at an estimated Rs 21 lakh, the release added.
