The 48-volt "Neo" cars would be assembled and marketed by Jayem Auto and has been produced in strategic association with Tata Motors.
It would run 150 kms with air-conditioning, on full charge.
The Neo was powered by an electric drive system developed and supplied to Jayem by Electra EV, a technology company which develops and produces electric drive systems. The first batch of cars will be supplied shortly, Jayem Automotives Pvt Ltd Managing Director, J Anand said in a release today.
Many automakers are joining the electric race and electric vehicles will soon become trend in India, he said.
