An application was mentioned before the bench of justices B D Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul, which after hearing the urgency, listed the plea for tomorrow.
Advocate Amit Sahni, appearing for Chautala, pleaded with the court that his client is "suffering from various ailments including tuberculosis, peripheral neuritis, low backache, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and various other geriatric ailments".
The counsel further informed that bench that Chautala wish to avoid the ordeal of undergoing a fresh series of medical tests, which cause physical and mental trauma to him more particularly due to his old age.
On January 22, 2013, a special CBI court had convicted and sentenced Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay along with seven others to 10-year jail term each for illegally recruiting 3,206 junior teachers in 2000.
