JCC and NTAC calls for 12-hour Nagaland bandh tomorrow

The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC) Kohima today called for a 12-hour Nagaland bandh tomorrow in protest against Chief Minister T R Zeliang's refusal to step down as demanded by both the organisations.
"In maintaining a steadfast and resolute stance demanding the stepping down of TR Zeliang from the chair of the Chief Minister and in view of the adamant stand taken by him, the JCC and NTAC Kohima have resolved to impose a 12-hour total bandh throughout the State tomorrow from 6 am to 6 pm," its media cell stated this evening.
Asserting that the bandh shall be peaceful and non-violent, the two bodies requested the general public to bear with the inconveniences caused and further request to extend cooperation by all concerned.
They also informed that Press/Media and newspaper hawkers, Para-military, Medical personnel are exempted from the purview of the bandh. Even the activities of all Educational institutions including Nagaland Board of School Education and State Council for Education Research and Training, which were exempted before will not come under purview of tomorrow's bandh, it said.
