Convenor of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Khomdram Ratan has been declared 'wanted' by the Manipur Police, according to a press release issued today by the force.
An amount of Rs five lakh has been announced for any informant who could provide information leading to the arrest of Ratan, who has been spearheading a mass movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state.
The declaration comes after circulation of an image in which Ratan was seen pledging his allegiance to the banned outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF).
The release stated that Ratan is a member of the proscribed outfit and charged him for indulging in activities against the state and prompting social unrest in the recent past.
Ratan was absconding and the Police were making all out efforts to arrest him at the earliest, the release said.
A criminal case has also been registered at Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West against Ratan, it added.
