A JD(S)-sponsored no confidence motion against more than two-year old Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka was today admitted by the Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimappa.
However, the Speaker is yet to decide on the date for the discussion on no confidence motion.
"I will give the date tomorrow. According to rules, it has to be done in three days," Thimmappa said.
Earlier, as the Speaker announced that he has admitted the JD(S) notice for no confidence motion and will schedule it for discussion later, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanded that the issue should be taken up for discussion on priority.
"No confidence motion should be taken up on priority, as they have expressed no confidence on the Chief Minister and the government," he said.
"You (Speaker) have also admitted it, so it should be taken up on priority. We are ready to face it," he added.

JD(S) Leader H D Kumaraswamy said he too is ready for discussion on the no confidence motion with the permission of the Speaker.
Following BJP's protest earlier in the day demanding discussion on farmer suicide incidents, the Speaker asked Opposition Leader Jagadish Shettar to initiate the discussion on the issue, and said the debate on no confidence motion shall be taken up later.
JD(S) Legislators who met today decided to move no confidence motion alleging failure on its part in handling various issues. Following the meeting the party MLA's had submitted notice to the Speaker.
Conceding the fact that the motion will not be able to bring down the government as it has no numbers, Kumaraswamy had earlier said it will provide room to discuss various issues.
BJP, the principal opposition party, is not supporting the motion, noting that with numbers stacked in favour of the ruling party, it would not serve any purpose and claiming that the government would fall on its own because of its follies.
Congress has 123 MLAs in the 225 member Assembly, while BJP and JD(S) have 44 and 40 MLAs respectively.
