JD(U) attacks BJP, Modi on meat export from Gujarat

Janata Dal(U) today hit out at BJP over the issue of "pink revolution" in meat export from Gujarat and claimed beef, pork and chicken were being sold in a Hong Kong restaurant inuagarated by 2 BJP leaders.
Accusing the main opposition of "hypocrisy" and having "double standards", JD (U) general secretary K C Tyagi showed a photograph to the media purportedly showing BJP Delhi president Harsh Vardhan and convenor of party foriegn cell Vijay Jolly at the inauguration of the restaurant.
"The hypocracy must stop...I have not seen such double standards...You campaign for religion and you are giving a communal colour to the election," Tyagi said.

"In Gujarat, meat production has doubled in ten years. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries figure says meat production in 2001-02 was 10,600 tonnes which in ten years' time doubled and reached 22,000 tonnes. Figures also show that Gujarat is among the top ten meat-exporting states", Tyagi said.
He claimed this was "contradictory" to BJP manifesto in 2014 which promises to put in place necessary legal framework to protect cow and set up of a national cattle development board.
