JD(U) leader among two killed and 5 others injured
Press Trust of India Nawada Two persons, including a local JD(U) leader, were killed and five others sustained burn injuries in separate incidents in Bihar's Nawada district today, police said.
JD(U) leader Yadunandan Chauhan died after a speeding truck rammed into his motorcycle near Odhanpur village on NH-31 under Mufassil police station area this morning, they said.
The victim was a member of the district's 20-point programme committee and a former JD(U) president of Nawada block, they said.
The locals had blocked NH-31 for some time to protest the incident.
An unidentified biker was killed in a similar manner after a truck hit his motorcycle near Manjhwe village under Town police station area.
In another incident, five members of a family sustained burn injuries when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in Gangarampur village under Narhat police station area. The injured were taken to the Sadar hospital where the attending doctors referred all of them to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in the state capital.
