JD(U) state president M P Veerendrakumar today denied that CPI(M) leader V S Achuthanandan had spoken to him seeking the votes of his party legislators in support of LDF in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Speaking to reporters here, he said nobody had spoken to him or any other leaders of his party in this regard and added that he had met the CPI(M) leader several months back.
Earlier in the day, CPI leader C Divakaran had reportedly said in Thiruvananthapuram that V S Achuthananthan had held talks with RSP and JD(U) leaders seeking their support for his party candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls.
The JD(U) leader had reiterated that his party was with the UDF and would vote for the UDF candidate in the poll.
However, Veerendrakumar said he would not hesitate to share the dais with the Left Front to oppose the Sangh Parivar.
