The world has plunged into "discomfort" following the strike in the French capital that left 129 people dead, party chief Sharad Yadav said today while requesting Modi to "call a debate on the global scenario that has emerged following the Paris attacks for reaching a common consensus".
"The attack in Paris was connected with the West and East Asia. Therefore, a consensus should emerge in Parliament, which is in the interest of the world and India," Yadav told reporters here.
Meanwhile, asked if a grand alliance on the lines of the one in Bihar could materialise in Uttar Pradesh to take on BJP in the Assembly elections, Yadav declined to comment but underlined the necessity for forming an alternative front.
"I won't comment on this issue because our priority right now is to fulfil the election promises made in Bihar. But I feel that it is immensely necessary for the political parties to join hands to form an alternative front," he added.
