The matter was taken up on a contempt petition filed by one advocate Abdul Hamid Baig.

Baig had applied for allotment of a plot in Ambedkar Nagar under a scheme launched by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) in 2008. He had deposited a sum of Rs 3.44 lakh but was not alloted the plot nor was his deposits returned to him on demand.

Baig had then approached consumer forum which heard his plea and directed the JDA to return the deposited sum with an interest of 10 percent or allot him the concerned plot.

Due to a miscommunication by the counsel of JDA the court's order could not be communicated to Ranka, forcing the forum to issue bailable warrant against him. Ranka appeared before the forum today to seek his bail.
