Jeera down on weak overseas demand

Jeera drifted by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale kirana market today due to weak export demand.
Traders said weak export demand against adequate stocks position on higher arrivals from producing belts mainly weighed on jeeera prices.
Jeera common and Best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 16,200-16,800 and Rs 20,200-20,700 per quintal respectively.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 650-775, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,790-1,810 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,060-2,080.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 800-820, cardamom bold 810-830, cardamom extra (bold) 940-990 and cloves 750-850.
