In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March was trading lower by Rs 175, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 13,945 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,332 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in far-month April shed Rs 175, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 14,065 per quintal in 1,980 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants amid subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing regions, led to the decline in jeera prices at the futures trade.
