Further, expectations of higher output put pressure on jeera prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November fell by Rs 190, or 1.77 per cent, to Rs 10,555 per quintal with an open interest of 1,506 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October declined by Rs 180, or 1.69 per cent, to Rs 10,460 per quintal in 5,265 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in jeera prices in futures trade to adequate supplies from producing belts against weak demand in the spot market.
