At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July month rose by Rs 150, or 0.90 per cent to Rs 16,840 per quintal with an open interest of 27,228 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts gained Rs 135, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 16,475 per quintal in 5,229 lots.
Analysts attributed rise in jeera prices at futuers trade to pickup in demand in the spot markets against restricted supplies from producing belts.
