At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in May fell by Rs 140, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 16,650 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,341 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June traded lower by Rs 130, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 16,830 per quintal in 18,006 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders, triggered by ample stocks following higher supplies from growing belts amid subdued demand in the spot market, led to decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
