Furthermore, adequate stocks in the physical market on higher supplies from producing regions weighed on jeera prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in January dropped by Rs 310, or 2.11 per cent to Rs 14,350 per quintal with an open interest of 9,525 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in far-month March tumbled by Rs 225, or 1.53 per cent to Rs 14,455 per quintal in 2,841 lots.
