Jeera futures zoom on robust spot demand

Jeera prices shot up by Rs 315 to Rs 17,485 per quintal in futures trading today after participants enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot markets on strong demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, jeera delivery for delivery in December month contracts climbed Rs 315 or 1.83 per cent to Rs 17,485 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,727 lots.
Jeera for delivery in November month contracts also flared up by Rs 300 or 1.77 per cent to Rs 17,270 per quintal, in an open interest of 7,170 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in jeera prices to a firm trend at the phsical markets on strong demand form bulk consumers.
