Marketmen said increased buying by stockists on the back of a rise in demand from retailers mainly led to the rise in jeera prices.
In the national capital, jeera common and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 13,700-14,200 and Rs 16,900-17,400 per quintal, respectively.

Ajwain (per kg) 175-220, black pepper (per kg) 700-900, betel-nut (kg) 280-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,700-1,750 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,900.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 820-890, cardamom (colour robin) 760-820, cardamom bold 790-850, cardamom extra (bold) 990-1,020 and cloves 800-900.
