Jeera softens on adequate stocks

Jeera prices weakened by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today, triggered by adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing regions against subdued demand.
Traders said sufficient stocks on the back of higher supplies from producing regions against easing demand at prevailing levels led to decline in jeera prices.
Jeera common and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 15,700-16,200 and Rs 19,700-20,200 per quintal, respectively.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 760-930, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,520-1,525 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,625-1,925.
