Jeera, turmeric fall on adequate supply

Prices of jeera and turmeric were down by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale kirana market today due to sufficient stocks position against subdued demand.
Traders said besides fall in demand, adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing regions mainly pulled down prices of the spices.
In the national capital, jeera common and best quality were traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 15,900-16,500 and Rs 19,900 and Rs 20,400 per quintal, respectively.
Turmeric also slid by a similar margin to Rs 7,900-12,400 per quintal.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 610-760, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,825-1,850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,070-2,120.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 800-820, cardamom bold 810-830, cardamom extra (bold) 940-990 and cloves 750-850.
