Former Australia pace bowler Jeff Thomson has returned to the city to monitor the growth of the young bowlers at the Mumbai Cricket Association-IDBI Federal Life Insurance Bowling Foundation.
"After his initial trip in October, Thomson is back to monitor the progress of bowlers in collaboration with the coaches, sports trainer Rajesh Savant, and physiotherapist Dr Anuradha Rakhonde," said a media release today.
"On the basis of their progress reports, Thomson will now formulate tailor-made training plans for each of the bowlers," it said.
During his visit, Thomson would be watching matches of Mumbai Ranji and Under-23 teams and analyse their performance and progress on the field.
Thomson, who formed a deadly pace combination with Dennis Lillee in the 1970s, would also be conducting training sessions and practise matches for players not participating in the above tournaments at the Goregaon Sports Club in Mumbai, according to the release.
