"Rabindra Jena should thank CBI for not arresting him so far. He(Jena) should have been in jail by now," Oram told reporters while reacting over Jena's allegation that central agencies like CBI and central excise harass him with political motives.
Dubbing the raids by CBI and central excise on his house and factory as "political vendetta", Jena had said "I don't know the exact reason behind the operation. This is the lowest point of political vendetta. I have never seen this in democracy. I hope the injustice meted out to me should stop now."
Jena's house and factory in the name of his wife at Balasore were raided by central excise teams in connection with the chit fund scam. A five-member team also raided his office at OT Road in the town.
Searches were conducted by the agency's four-member team at Om Pipe Manufacturing factory, in the same town, also in the name of his wife.
CBI had on January 12 carried out raids at 25 locations in the country in connection with the chit fund scam, including at Jena's office and residence.
