The 42-year-old 'American Idol' judge will executive produce the hour-long drama that centers on a lesbian couple, who bring a teenager into their already child-heavy household, reported Ace Showbiz.
"The yet-to-be untitled project centers on a couple, one of them is a cop and the other is a private school teacher. They have one biological son and adopted teen twins, one is a boy and the other is a girl. They later find their already child-heavy household turned upside down when a wayward teenage girl moves in," a source said.
Peter Paige and Brad Bredeweg have been hired as the writers.
They will join Lopez, Simon Fields and Greg Gugliotta as executive producers. ABC Family is reportedly fast tracking the project.
