Jerai Fitness partners SAfrican academy to hone fitness

Country's leading exercise equipment manufacturer Jerai Fitness has partnered South Africa's online fitness academy to offer Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs), South Africa certification to aspiring fitness trainers.
Jerai Fitness would offer internationally accredited health and fitness training courses in English and few regional languages in partnership with Trifocus Fitness through an online venture www.Trifocusfitnessacademy.In, a statement issued by Jerai Fitness said.
They would be offered on 3G/4G data platforms in association with leading cellular companies of the country, it said.
Jerai Fitness Managing Director Rajesh Rai said, "Under this initiative, we would offer world-class, internationally recognized exercise training courses, primarily to skill fitness training professionals in India.

"These young professionals would also be assisted for employment in over 3,000 gymnasiums across the country. Also, REPs certification would help them to attract lucrative placement opportunities from all over the world."
"Our thrust would be on grooming young girls who are keen to become fitness training professionals. We would associate with NGOs across the country to nurture women entrepreneurship in health and fitness industry," he said.
"Steep rise witnessed in the disposable incomes of young professionals in India in the recent years, and subsequently the desire to look and feel good, coupled with a preventive approach to healthcare, has led to continuous increase in demand of well-trained and qualified health and fitness trainers in India," Rai said.

According to World Health Organisation (WHO), obesity in India has nearly doubled in the past few decades.
