Jet Airways today said it has appointed Rahul Taneja as Chief People Officer and he would be responsible for shaping the group's operations and performance.
Taneja, who previously headed Corporate Human Resources at diversified Essar Group, would be part of the airline's Executive Management Committee.
In recent times, some companies, especially in the e-commerce space, have been roping in executives for the post of Chief People Officer.
In his new role, 47-year-old Taneja would be "responsible for shaping the operations and performance of the group", Jet Airways said in a statement.
He would join the Executive Management Committee that has been tasked by the carrier's board of directors to drive the company's growth and future strategy, it added.
Taneja brings with him a global human resource management perspective, said Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal, adding that the airline would benefit substantially from his expertise and experience.
