Private carrier Jet Airways today operated three flights to Kathmandu, two from Delhi and one from Mumbai while transporting 2,600 kg of relief material to the earthquake-devastated Nepalese capital Kathmandu.
The airline also said that it has flown over 1,500 stranded people back to India since April 25, when a high intensity earthquake, measuring 7.9 on Richter scale flattened buildings in Nepal.
The relief material comprised medical equipment, surgical suits, tents, food and water, it said.
"To facilitate travel of guests to and from Kathmandu, we continue to sell seats at the lowest fare on our direct flights between Kathmandu and Mumbai/Delhi, up to May 10, 2015. Guests with confirmed bookings to and from Kathmandu may choose to cancel/ reschedule their booking at no cost," Jet Airways said.
The airline has also waived off freight charges for shipment of relief material onboard its flights to Kathmandu.
