The new aircraft with its three-class configuration commenced operating on the sector effective today, Jet Airways in a statement said.
The switch-over from the existing 254-seater Airbus A330 -200 aircraft to 346-seater Boeing 777 also means that the airline will be able to fly 35 per cent more passengers and cater to increase in air traffic on this route.
The aircraft provides eight first class suites, 30 lie- flat beds in premiere class and 308 economy class seats, according to the airline.
Jet Airways operates flights to 65 domestic and international destinations with a fleet of 113 aircraft, comprising Boeing 777-300 ERs, Airbus A330-200/300, Next Generation Boeing 737s and ATR 72-500/600s.
