Jet Airways today announced 31 additional flights in the domestic network to meet the holiday rush beginning next month.
The leading private carrier has already introduced 23 inbound and outbound flights from New Delhi to seven cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru. Some of these services include late night departures as well.
The airline has also increased frequencies (totalling eight) to Pune, Goa and Imphal from New Delhi to cater to the growing demand for business and tourist travel.
Commenting on the move, Jet Chief Commercial Officer Raj Sivakumar said, "The additional frequencies in the 2015 summer schedule will significantly enhance travel options for our guests. We are confident that these new flights will prove popular with our guests."
Jet currently operates a fleet of 116 aircraft and has one of the youngest fleet in the country with an average of 5.99 years.
Earlier this week, the Naresh Goyal-led airline said it was planning to sell all of its wide-body Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 planes to raise cash and to retire a portion of its Rs 12,000-crore debt.
UAE flag carrier Ethihad Airways owns 24 per cent in the Indian private carrier.
