"Additional district magistrate (finance) Ghanshyam Singh along with myself and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh went to the victim's house and handed over the relief cheque of Rs 5 lakh to them," Sub Divisional Magistrate Shubhi Kakan said.
She said the police investigation in the case is on the fast track and the police hope to crack the case soon.
"On May 24, a member of Jewar family was shot dead by robbers. Tension had gripped the area. On June 1, I had taken the victim's family members to Lucknow where they met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Armed robbers had on May 25 struck a group of eight persons travelling to Bulandshahr in a vehicle on the Yamuna Expressway, shooting dead a man and looting cash and jewellery.
Four women, who were travelling in the car along with as many men, alleged that they were raped at gunpoint after they tried to resist the robbery bid.
