The issue had yesterday resonated in the state assembly, with the opposition parties claiming that the law and order situation was deteriorating in the state.
The DGP today said the assailants would be nabbed shortly and that the police would prevent a repeat of such incidents.
He said traders should not fear and the culprits will soon be behind the bars.
Singh said the police is also working on a plan to ensure the safety of jewellers in the state.
He said the chief minister was committed to improving the law and order situation in the state.
Earlier in the day, a group of traders met the minister and demanded martyr status to both their deceased colleagues.
